The East Anglian Pinball Show – Swavesey
Branded as “The Friendliest Little Pinball Show in the U.K”, the East Anglian Pinball Show will be held at The White Horse, 1 Market Street, Swavesey, Cambs CB24 4QG, on the weekend of 29th and 30th June. The show is run to raise money for Tom’s Trust – a charity dedicated to offering clinical psychology to children affected by brain tumours, based out of Cambridge’s Addenbrooke’s Hospital.
Currently there are 13 tables making their way to Cambridgeshire for everyone to enjoy, and whilst many are currently TBC and those confirmed are, as all tables for events are given the mechanical nature of pinball machines, subject to change. In saying that, the list currently comprises of JJP’s Pirates of the Caribbean, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, World Poker Tour and Strikes and Spares.
In keeping with the show’s unashamed laid back nature, the competition too follows that vibe. The competition will be held on the Sunday at 13:00, with no pre-registration required. The only requirement is be there to sign up by 12:00 on the day. Given that the competition will require to run over most of the pinball machines at the time, casual play may be affected especially in the earlier rounds to allow the players to complete the group matches.
What is not to like? Pinball, on a licensed premises, in a nice relaxed environment, with a competition on the Sunday. If all of these things on their own weren’t enough to get you to pop by and grab a drink and flip a few games, the fact that it is all to support an incredibly worthy and local to the event charity, makes it all the more enticing. I hope to see you there.
